Nationally-Registered Physical Exams

Organizations must comply with the Department of Transportation’s federal regulations when employing commercial motor vehicle (CMV) drivers. These drivers must have passed a physical examination conducted by a qualified examiner.

A regulation as of May 21, 2014, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) requires that a nationally-registered certified medical examiner conducts all physical examinations.

Nationwide, we here at ARCpoint Labs of Columbia, SC are registered providers for CMV driver physicals and are educated in the current requirements. Our staff can guarantee that your drivers are mentally and physically qualified to perform their jobs.

Nationally-Registered Medical Examiner Qualifications

A nationally-registered medical examiner (ME) providing legal DOT compliant physical exams must have appropriate training and pass a certification test. Doctors of medicine, physician assistants, chiropractors, doctors of osteopathy (DOs) and nurses can qualify.

If the ME is nationally-registered, this specifies they conduct and adhere to high standards and safety regulations set forth by federal agencies with consistency.

ARCpoint Labs Columbia, SC offers comprehensive DOT services to provide a nationally-registered provider to administer physical examinations your organization requires to remain DOT compliant.
